Women's Place of South Niagara believes in education and developing lasting relationships with women and men in our communities. If your group, school or community project needs a speaker on the impact of abuse and how to overcome it, we can help! ATTENTION ALL LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS! We would like to work with you to develop a presentation to your student body about domestic violence, dating abuse and violence against women – an important issue that will affect each student at your school. To assist you in developing your assembly we will provide you with statistics from our shelter programs, images, and stories from survivors of domestic violence in our community. We will also provide your guidance department with our agency brochures and information that will educate students about the warning signs of abuse. Following the assembly a counsellor from Women’s Place will be available at your school for students to speak with if they are experiencing any form of abuse – whether the abuse is from a parent/guardian; from someone they are dating or a peer.
