Update
WPSN is pleased
to announce that in July of 2005 the construction of the new shelter
in Niagara Falls began. Scheduled timelines suggest that construction
will be completed by Spring of 2006. A most memorable grand opening
will be hosted by the campaign team to celebrate the opening of
our doors to hundreds of abused women and children that so desperately
need our support. Thank you to all of those who supported this project!
You have assisted us in building a new shelter that will be able
to provide double the number of families in crisis and provide quality
service and programs to those in need!
Message
from the Capital Campaign Chair
When I look
back to where we were in our "new building journey" a
year ago, I can see that we have come a long way. Not only has the
fundraising portion of the Campaign been completed and we have reached
our financial goal, but now the ground has been broken and construction
has begun. We have much to celebrate.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without all of
your help. Your contributions, your time, your ideas, and your donations
of goods and services. Now you can finally realize that your efforts,
and those of the Campaign team, the Board of Directors and the staff
of Women's Place, are finally seeing fruition. Our dream to see
a larger, safer, better shelter for the victims of domestic violence
will soon be fulfilled.
My job as volunteer chair of the Campaign is now over, but be assured
that I will stay involved and be most supportive of Women's Place
of South Niagara where ever they need me. Even though the Campaign
is over, Womens Place of South Niagara will need your help more
than ever. I hope you will continue to join me, in supporting them
and all their wonderful contributions to our communities as well
as how they truly assist the abused women and children and work
to end domestic violence.
Again, many thanks!
Dr. June Mergl, Chair of the Nova House Capital Campaign
