Women’s Place South Niagara Inc is a not-for-profit organization with 75% of annual operating revenues funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the remainder through donations, bequests, sponsorship and special events as well as other fundraising initiatives.

Your financial contributions allow us to provide the women and children visiting our two shelters with the protection, security, counselling and support they need to begin a new life – free of violence. If you wish, we can arrange for your gift to be directed to a specific service or area of Women’s Place South Niagara Inc. Many donations come in the form of Special Occasion Gifts by a friend, colleague or family member honoring a loved one.

Although funding is crucial, it takes much more than money to meet the many needs of our active organization. In-kind donations are essential for us to maintain the level of support and service we provide the women and children staying at either of our two shelters. At times, our shelters have limited storage capacity. During these times, we will refer you to other agencies. In exchange for your contribution (on behalf Women’s Place South Niagara) our shelter clients will receive vouchers and will pick up your donation when they are ready.

We have more than 300 dedicated volunteers who assist the staff with daily activities and facilitate our 3 major fundraising events. In addition to our volunteers, we have the support of thousands of individuals who participate in annual, biannual and third-party events.

Volunteering is about more than community involvement; it is about leading and showing others the way. The Public Education Program was designed with that in mind. Our staff and volunteers are regularly visiting schools and other organizations educating the public about abuse, as well as potential causes and the effects domestic violence has on individuals, families and the community as a whole.

If you would like more information about Women’s Place South Niagara Inc. please contact our Development Office at 905-356-3933 ext. 240 or developmentmgr@wpsn.ca.
